The notion of the body as a compass inspires this ongoing collaboration between
Mexican artists Vanessa Enríquez and Ilya Noé, for which they use the full
extent of their bodies to inscribe and map the particularities and differences
between them, as well as the variations of their movements from day to
day.Through the exploration of rotations, angles and limitations of their
joints, they become devices not only for tracing circles, but also for
measuring, anchoring, locating, navigating and diagnosing.
In the context of their exhibition at Galerie Kollaborativ, Zirkel 2.0 will
present 2 large ephemeral chalk drawings which will continue to be performed,
erased and re-performed on site every day during the week after the opening-;
the ever-growing photographic and video documentation of their rehearsal process
and subsequent live events; and the simple notation system they’ve put together.
